Howard Leese is best known for his long stint in the superstar rock group Heart, during which time the band went from virtually unknown to one of the most successful rock acts of its generation. Upon his departure from Heart Leese had planned to retire from live performance, but his plans changed suddenly when legendary Free/Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers asked him to become his lead guitarist. For more than a decade Leese has worked with Rodgers on the road, and he recently joined the singer in a Bad Company reunion tour. Howard is featured on Bad Company's new DVD 'Hard Rock Live', and he's also preparing to tour in England with the group. Howard Leese joined us on Long Live Rock to discuss his career with Heart, Paul Rodgers and Bad Company, and a wide range of other topics including the revelation that he was almost asked to replace Kerry Livgren in Kansas!
