Effective website marketing is how you get your website to behave. In a recent survey that I conducted among 8,000 photographers, over 87% of the survey respondents reported that their business website does not produce the results that they expected. In a similar survey conducted among internet marketers, 95% of the survey respondents reported that their websites do not produce the results expected.

That isn't a good thing.

What I find when I review these websites is that there are some major missing parts. It isn't the website designer's fault. Most don't know the first thing about making websites effective. The skills required to build a website are valuable and important. But, the skills required to build a website are dramatically separate and completely different from the skills required for effective website marketing. So, just having a well built and attractive website isn't enough to make it effective.

Effective website marketing requires strategies that are very doable (as easy as using email) but, unfortunately not widely known and understood. If more of us small business owners understood the basic requirements of making our websites produce the results that we're expecting, our websites would pay for themselves ten times over.

How To Make Your Website Behave

First, determine what it is that you want your website to do. For some of us, we want to make sales. For others we want people to walk into our businesses and buy our product and services. And still some of us just want others to share in our cause - no matter what that is.

This show will expand on these points and share more about the basics that we must understand to have an effective website. Here is a good source of website marketing tips that work very well.
