HOTEP AND BLESSINGS LOC KINGS AND LOC QUEENS...... Tonight on my radio show  "EMBRACE YOUR NEW GROWTH" I'll be talking about starting your locs "the healthy way". For those of you that recently started your loc journey or if you're  thinking about starting your locs here's some basic points to ensure you have a beautiful and healthy crown of locs for many years to come. 1. Start your locs with box braids or two stand twists. 2. Avoid starting your locs with comb coil twists because gels or waxes would  be used in order to keep the coils in place. 3. Avoid using gels, waxes, creams, etc because in time these products will cause build up. 4. Don't put products in your hair, instead use natural oils in your scalp. 5. Don't become a product Junky. A couple of natural oils  on your scalp will give you a healthy crown. 6. Cover your head with silk at night. 7. Embrace the fuzziness of your locs because it's part of the locking process. 8. Understand your loc journey is your own and your locs will never look like anyone else's. Your locs are unique.  9. The beginning of your Loc journey IS NOT AN "UGLY PHASE" it's a necessary phase. 10. Don't use shampoos and conditioners in your hair. Shampoos and conditioners are for detangling hair and locs are formed from tangled hair.
