Carla Toledo Dauden was born in Brazil, but at age 18 she decided to follow her passion for film and study cinema in California. She went to Santa Barbara City College for two years, and soon wrote, produced and directed her first short film, (, which premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival of 2010. In her third year in the country, Carla transferred to the selective Film and Electronic Arts program at Cal State Long Beach, where she double tracked in directing and cinematography, and later received a B.A. degree. At CSULB, Carla was awarded three scholarships, The Baker Arts Scholarship," the Women in Film Scholarship," and the "Fine Arts Affiliates Scholarship." Carla's latest short film, The Wash (was praised for it's daring approach to water conservation and received the audience's choice award at the international Intelligent Use of Water competition. Carla is currently directing the YouTube partner web series (Development Hell ( and is working on the script of her next film.
