The Life of A Seed

          As Resurrection day has passed. I began to wonder why so many people apply Easter with new clothes, new shoes, a new hat, a new purse, and a new suit.  Well, it is obvious that some of us are confused about Easter Sunday.  Most of us will sacrifice whatever we have to do so that we can supply those things for our children.  Some will hold back seeds and expect a harvest while stuffing their baskets with fake grass and a fluffy bunny rabbit. They will work all kind of crazy overtime, sweating blood and tears just so that they can attend church for the first time this year. They will make all kind of excuses and abandon the promises made until this time next year.            

 The truth is that we have a tendency to put more emphasis on the commercial aspect of Easter. Jesus is not an Easter service. He consecrated himself to do the will of the Father.  He came in the form of seed so that he could fulfill his purpose. He walked the earth as a man for 33 years. But, Jesus knew he was sent here to die. His sacrifice was not finished until he died on Calvary. If Jesus had not died there would be no salvation.  Christ resurrection gives us power to be like him. The power of the resurrection gives us power to live!
          

 So, the next time you hold your finances from the Kingdom of God  for selfish reasons, remember that God sent his only begotten son as a seed to deliver us, to set us free so that we may have the right to eternal life.  Why do you live?
