In more than 60 years of public service, John Edmund Haggai has pastored four churches, held crusades around the world and established an advanced leadership training program which has over 78,000 alumni in 183 countries. Truly a world Christian statesman, he has crisscrossed six continents, circled the globe 102 times, and met with numerous heads of state. An alumnus of Moody Bible Institute and Furman University, Haggai was named “Alumnus of the Year” by Moody and has received honorary doctorates on both sides of the Pacific. During his first trip to Asia in the 1960s, Dr. Haggai realized changes in global geopolitics — brought about by the end of colonialism — required new strategies for world evangelism. The need to mobilize nationals to reach their own people was clear. After much research, prayer, and development, the first advanced leadership seminar was conducted in 1969. Despite extraordinary family demands, (his son was brain-damaged at birth) and an international ministry, Haggai has carved out time to write extensively. His first book, How to Win Over Worry, has sold millions of copies. Other books include: My Son Johnny, his poignant autobiographical account of life with a handicapped child who died at 24; Lead On!, twelve basic principles of leadership which can be learned and strengthened; The Leading Edge, the history and philosophy of Haggai Institute; How to Win Over Pain; How to Win Over Fear; How to Win Over Loneliness; The Steward; Be Careful What You Call Impossible!; The Wackersberg Connection; Paul J. Meyer and the Art of Giving; and The Seven Secrets of Effective Business Relationships. He wrote Exponential Leader in 2008, Influential Leader 2009; revised – 50th Anniversary edition of How to Win Over Worry 2009. John Edmund Haggai and his wife Christine live in Atlanta, Georgia — their influence touches millions of people around the world.
