Dean Alioto is an award-winning director/writer, specializing in action, genre, and biopics for feature films and TV.

He is the creator of the “found footage” genre movie. Predating both THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, Dean’s groundbreaking cable movie ALIEN ABDUCTION: INCIDENT IN LAKE COUNTY, featured a family being abducted by aliens, as told from the point-of-view of a family member's home video camera.

From there, Dean went on to make his theatrical film debut with the award winning critically acclaimed dark comedic thriller, CRASHING EDEN.

Variety called his direction with actors “Solid” and his writing “Very humorous.”

Dean follow up film, the epic action/western SHADOWHEART, was called "The best western since Tombstone" by Western Historian Peter

Sherayko.

Currently, Dean has a Beatles biopic and a Cuban Missile Crisis limited series in development, as well as three new genre movies.

In addition to writing and directing, Alioto is also a very mediocre drummer :)
