Merv is a Prostate Cancer Survivor and Awareness Advocate. He conducts seminars on Prostate Cancer Awareness, speaking to men 40 years of age and older on the benefits of annual screening for the Early Detection of Prostate Cancer.
He is the President and Founder of Prostate Education Awareness Foundation,a graduate of the AACR (American Association for Cancer Research) Scientist–Survivor program, and a member of MICR (Minorities in Cancer Research). He is a phone counselor for the R.A Bloch Cancer Foundation, speaking to men who calls the hotline after they have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, letting them know the Treatment Options they have available to them, and in consultation with their healthcare provider.
He is also involved in his local church as the Head Deacon, an Elder, a Bible Class Teacher, and Board Member. Merv resides in Phoenix Arizona, and is married to his wife Paula, who is a Registered Nurse, and an Adjunct Professor for undergraduate nursing, they have two children Quinton 19, and Lexi 17.
