For 25+ years, Eric Tonningsen held progressively responsible leadership positions in the business world. While quite successful, he long knew he was misaligned between what he did to earn a living and who he was at his core. He wasn’t living and being his values, so he walked away from the comfort of the corporate cocoon – cold turkey. He chose a new life direction and profession and launched his full-time Coaching practice in early 2006. Blissfully, he’s never looked back.
Eric speaks, writes, hosts a radio show, and coaches -- to inspire people entering life’s “Third Act” to review and renew their lives. He focuses on helping people create shifts from lives filled with traditional measures of success to aligning their lives with even greater significance. A four-year board member and Past President of the New Mexico Chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF), Eric received his B.S. degree in Economics and Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a M.B.A. in International Political Economy and Technology from George Mason University. An avid traveler, his lifelong nomadic lifestyle found him calling Corrales, New Mexico his home eight years ago.
Jay Rodriguez is a Grammy Nominated Saxophonist, Flautist, Clarinetist, Film Composer, Producer and Arranger. He was born Hernan Ramiro Rodriguez-Sierra in the coastal port city of Barranquilla Colombia on September 17, 1967. His family immigrated to NYC when he was 3 in 1970. He commenced his musical studies at the age of 7 on clarinet. When he turned 10 he began studying alto saxophone and conducting with Tito D Rivera (Father of the famed Paquito D’Rivera ). Mr Tito D Rivera was a famed Classical saxophonist of his generation. By the time Jay turned 12, he had begun studying saxophone with Joe Allard. Other teachers included Saxophonist/flautist – Jesus Garcia, Mark Friedman, Kenny Hitchcock, and Emile De Cosmo. At 13 Paquito D Rivera would take Jay to sit in and play with him around town. He featured him as a guest soloist at the famed Salsa Meets Jazz concerts at the then well known Village Gate. There he met Jazz legends like Stanley Turrentine, Ray Barretto, Tito Puente, Victor Venegas and Dizzy Gillespie to name a few. He went on to work with the well known Jazz and Latin artists like Wilfredo Vargas, Bross Townsend, Vincente Pacheco, Celia Cruz, Jose Alberto, Candido and many more. At 14 he was chosen to attend the High School for the Performing Arts (now known as La Guardia) in NYC at the time located on 46th st. His classmates at the time included Billy Charlap, Jon Gordon, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Robinson.

Chat and Warm-up Music starts at 8:30 am Pacific, 11:30 am Eastern. Ilene and her Guest(s) start the interviews at 9am Pacific, 12-noon Eastern.
Our originally scheduled guest, Dr. Stan Tatkin could not be with us today due to a traveling conflict. Instead Ilene will host the "command performance" of one of her favorite shows, "Zoobiquity", which originally aired 2/21/13.
Zoobiquity with Dr. Barbara Natterson-Horowitz and Katheryn Bowers.
Our delightful little Fox Terrier-Corgi mix dog, Bella, died 4 days after Christmas in 2012. She was 12, and like most animals had stayed in the pink of health her whole life until the malignancy that killed her started invading. What is it that animals can teach us about health and the science of healing? That’s what I’ll be discussing with Dr. Natterson-Horowitz and Katheryn Bowers, hearing incredible stories (like the one about fish that faint) and what we can learn about disease and health by studying those “other animals”. In my work, I’ve learned how to work with emotions from those “other animals,” so it’s only natural that I also go to that well to find out how to better work with health.

One of my favorite scripture stories appears in the John chapter 5. John shares a story of a paralyzed man at a pool in Bethesda. In this story Jesus asks the paralyzed man, “Do you want to be made well?”
Thirty-eight years of confinement and affliction that no doubt let them and weak and hopeless. Jesus is question seems intended to challenge the man’s will and his openness toward another source of help.
Join the conversation on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Noon time (Eastern) as we tell the rest of the story of the man at the well.
