What did we learn... on 11.26 we discussed stalking. Now, there's physical stalking and there's virtually stalking someone. Both ways are indications of being rejected by someone. Men and women both stalk, though DRock, Jeff Ask and Mia felt that more women were prone to stalking where I felt that both men and women equally pursue this as a vehicle to express their emotions. Red flags discussed were: The stalker emails, phones or physically shows their desire. In other words, if you are stalking someone you consistently call, email or try to insert your presence on the person in question. The stalker (in their mind) do not see the problem. The stalkee sometimes does not know how to respond. Men particularly do not want to deal with it. Most women will call the police or file papers to get restraining orders, etc. Each person in the situation will have to think what is best for themselves. Drock said that most women do pursue police immediately and that men must be careful about response, since some women will show up at a place of employment, or damage personal property of the stalkee (most men car's are vulnerable in this scenario). Great points by other hosts (Mia, JeffAsk, and our guest Sherry) pointed out that each person has their own situation to overcome. Women should be careful who they let in their personal space; must arm themselves with a few tools -- make sure when going out with strangers or online potential interests with a backup plan to include (a public meeting, not one in your home). If you are meeting someone in your home, make sure you feel totally comfortable with them, and have cleared them by doing a lot of questioning before hand. Know their status (married, single, seperated, etc.). We discussed that lack of love, self -esteem, and self-worth positions a lot of women and some men with becoming a victim of stalkers. Stalkers always look for opportunities to insert themselves so be very wary and careful of who you allow to come into your space. We will pick up on the virtual stalking of children in January so come back and vibe with us then about that. Next week: Open Relationships! See you on Wednesday.
