WOW - What a weekend I had! - I just returned from a Spiritual retreat held at the VIlla Desiderata - located up in McHenry County Illinois. The retreat started on Friday the 12th approx.8 PM and ended today around 11 AM. I was very emotional by the end of the weekend having shared and listened to several of my fellow AA Members after watching a movie featuring Will Smith, Helen Mirror & Kate Winslet. I had seen the mmovie positioned on the shelf of my local video store but decided against it - figuring that Will Smith was preaching about something or another. I was correct! However my not watching it before the retreat - left me open & receptive to learning and experiencing the movie first hand and its impact on myself and others in my group. The purpose of this retreat was to bring us closer to understanding and welcoming a HIGHER POWER into our lives. I was humbled and very much touched by those my HIGHER POWER put in my path and grateful for this experience. I had meant the weekend for a Sponsee of mine - and found it touching my heart - helping me ascend my disease even further.
