"Today, looking at what's happening to so many young boys and girls participating in sports—the injuries are much greater. And someone needs to face the responsibility," he says. "Sometimes we have to be parents, instead of cheerleaders or friends or coaches. That plays a huge role in what happens to kids in terms of injuries today."
