Today I celebrate the music of GIL SCOTT HERON who made his transition at the time of this live broadcast. I can't say enough about a SOUL MAN the likes of GSH. I had the honor of meeting him some 30 years ago, have been a part of some of his live performances, and I will say that he was/is someone who's art and consciousness has been a major influence on me since that meeting. GRIOT, POET, SONG WRITER, HISTORIAN, POLITICAL SATIRIST, PROPHET, and BROTHER are all things we can say are titles to this SOUL of a man. You were correct about so many things you shared with us through your music and lyric. You will be missed but NEVER forgotten here on the SOUL', "Scotty". RIP Gil Scott Heron...
