Photobucket Today my special guest and one of my all time favorite artists on the SOUL' is George Johnson of the Brothers Johnson. I grew up listening to the Brothers Johnson in LA where they are from. They were not only some of LA's best, they were Funky, Cool, and ALWAYS had a positive vibe in their music and their message. George and Louis are the prototype for what makes a true musician as they've played since they were children and have soaked up everything they could to enhance their own musical genius, which is still loved and listened to world wide. I talked to George and what I discovered which you will discover today is that George or GJ as he is also known, has a full tank of music, love, insights, and candor. I've found that these "oldschool" musicians are a lot more than the music they created many years ago. In the case of George Johnson, in addition to being one of the greatest musicians of all time, he is at once Grandfather, Father, Sage, Music Scholar, Social Commentator and one of the Funkiest, Coolest Kats to ever pick up a guitar. Having worked with Quincy Jones, Billy Preston, Sly Stone, George Clinton, Larry Graham, Steve Arrington, Grover Washington, Michael Jackson, Toto, as well as his brother Louis and too many others to mention only add to the GJ pedigree...In other words, he's STILL FUNKIN'! It's going to be an interesting conversation you will want to be a part of. I had one question I recall asking him 30 years ago at a remote album signing in a record store which I joked with him I've had to wait 30 years to get my answer. You'll crack up when you hear the story behind that plus some of the other things GJ has to share. Join me and let's show GJ the SOS luv' he's shown us all with his music/life lessons and reflections.
