Amit Mathradas, General Manager of PayPal's North American Online Small Business unit will discuss the research surrounding holiday shopping – and will share some valuable tips on how to get your business ready for the holidays: According to a new survey from PayPal, Americans are somewhat split on their attitudes towards the holidays:

50% are last minute shoppers, while 50% plan to have all their shopping done by December 1st., 50% enjoy being in-store and being able to see and touch items in person, while 50% prefer to sit at home and shop online, 53% say they feel safer than ever when shopping online this year, while 47% say they feel less secure than in previous years, 2 in 5 Millennials would shop online at the Thanksgiving table to get a good deal,

The survey revealed some other pretty staggering results:

  •         Who’s buying on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday
  •         Men and/or women?
  •         Who is buying millennials, young boomers and gen x-ers?
  •         Where in the US are people shopping - northeast, mid-west, south or west?
  •         Where are the buying? Who’s buying online? Who’s buying in-store?
