Dr. Robert Maurer is the author of One Small Step Can Change Your Life – The Kaizen Way. People know that the most lasting change occurs with baby steps, but most likely you don’t know why, which is what we will be discussing today. As the Director of Behavioral Sciences for Providence Family Medicine and a faculty member with the University of Washington School of Medicine, Dr. Maurer has studied how individuals, families, and organizations sustain their excellence in health, relationship, and work. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine.

He has served as a consultant to Walt Disney Studios, the US Air force, Costco, Wellpoint, American Express, Four Seasons Hotels, PricewaterhouseCooper, Make-A-Wish, and Habitat for Humanity. Dr. Maurer has appeared on ABC’s 20/20 in connection with his work on conflict resolution. A Los Angeles Times article profiled Dr. Maurer’s seminars on creativity. His book on creativity and change, One Small Step can Change Your Life was published in the fall of 2004 and is now in fourteen languages. He recently published a second book, The Spirit of Kaizen. Dr. Maurer is the founder of The Science of Excellence, a consulting firm.
