Allen West, African-American Republican for Congress

In south Florida. Lt. Col. West gained national media attention in 2004 for shooting over the head of an Al Qaeda suspect in Iraq, during an interrogation to protect his men. Now he's running as a Patriotic American for US Congress on the Republican line come November. He's running for the Clay Shaw seat currently held by a Dem, but viewed as one of the top prospects for a Republican pick-up in '08.
