What do you think of the Mahmoud Mahmoud Ahmadineja's speech and the Q&A that followed? Your thoughts...and mine.

I have been at this a long time. I have watched our government slide further and further to the right with each passing day. It is not only the Republicans, it’s the Democrats too. We have allowed this country to be used as a corporate, military entity to advance the aspirations of those that benefit from constant warfare. This has been happening since the intervention in Kosovo that let the US flex its military muscle. That the operation went so well was a testament to a NATO led force, not American power. Without a coalition of willing allies that believe we are right, the United States of America cannot take on the world.

First of all, we have no right to be in the Middle East. We can get enough crude from Venezuela. Of course, the American Government is trying to overthrow that regime because it is creeping toward socialism. We cannot let that happen. Everyone must think and act like we do. Of course, if we extricate ourselves out of the Middle East, we can just invade that South American country. This seems to be the American mindset.

Do you believe your own government anymore about anything? I don’t. Like I say, I’ve been at this a long time and I’ve never seen things the way that they are today. The government fabricates “incidents” much like the German Government of 1939. When are the American people going to tell their elected representatives to stop lying to the American People? This typical behavior of our government is insane! Has the country gone completely amoral? Since when have we taken the right of self-determination away from the third world? Do we own the Middle East? Don’t you wonder why they hate us more and more every day that passes?

We have caused the death of over a million Iraqi’s this time. Last time we caused the deaths of soldiers. The time before we equipped our buddy Saddam Hussein and killed over half-million Iraqi soldiers and 400,000 Iranian soldiers in our “proxy” war with Iran, using Iraq as a pawn. When is this behavior going to stop? Can you honestly look at the radical Muslims and say that their concerns are not “justified”? Are we the “friendly” country that our government would have you believe?  Are not we are warmongers and occupiers? Is this the nation you can feel proud of? Are Americans so wrapped up in materialism that they have no moral compass?

I don’t think so. I believe that you feel helpless as we bring carnage to countries that were no threat to us. If you feel helpless I pity you. We are no more helpless than what we believe.

I received an e-mail from Congressman John Conyers office today stating that he was going to introduce a bill in the House as soon as the calendar was open. This bill would formerly charge the administration with “Contempt of Congress” for not giving Congress the material on the firings of the Assistant US Attorneys that had been requested last summer. The letter is here:
