The Eric Garner Decision - NO Indictment AGAIN!

I can’t breathe.

Those were Eric Garner’s last words, and they now apply to me. The decision by a Staten Island grand jury to not indict the police officer who killed him takes my breath away. In the depressing reality series that should be called “No Country for Black Men,” this sick plot twist was shocking beyond belief. There should have been an indictment in the Ferguson case, in my view, but at least the events that led to Michael Brown’s killing were in dispute. Garner’s homicide wascaptured on video. We saw him being choked, heard him plead of his distress, watched as no attempt was made to revive him and his life slipped away.

Dr. Wendy's Comment: I do not have much to say as I was shocked about this decision.  For me, the video tape was crystal clear.  The nation saw a man bought to his knees and killed. What more can be said outside of: I CAN'T BREATHE. I am concerned about the judicial system as I now question who the system is set up to protect?  Has law enforcement received a pass card to kill our Black men? Does due process truly exist? Black lives do matter. Over the past several months Black male killings have been on the rise (from ages 12 and up).  Will body cameras circumvent some of these occurrences?  America, we have a serious race issue and it must be addressed. I'll stop there...
