Today is Veteran's Day. Join me this evening as I feature: Marylyn Harris President & CEO of Harrland Healthcare Consulting, LLC headquartered in Houston, Texas. Harrland Healthcare is a Management Consulting Firm specializing in Medical and Psychiatric Staffing and Training Services. Past clients of Harrland include the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Army National Guard and the Air Force. In September, 2009, Harrland launched The Veterans Infosource Project, The VIP Project, an coaching and counseling resource that assists Universities to support their student veterans by becoming “Military-friendly” campuses. The VIP Project is a comprehensive ‘support’ resource for both Veterans and universities. Services for Veterans include: 24/7 online coaching and counseling, referrals and remedial training. Services for Universities include: Veteran Recruitment, Veterans Needs Assessments, Faculty/Staff Professional Development Training (Military Awareness and Meeting the Unique Needs of Military Students) and Program Development to assist universities become “Military-Friendly” campuses. The VIP Project will release its first publication on Veterans Day, November 11, 2009, “25 Resources Every Texas Veteran Needs To Know.” The book is a user-friendly pocket guide to numerous FREE and discounted "info sources" (information and resources) for Texas veterans with busy lives. Innovative Business Challenge at the 31st National Conference of the National Black MBA Association and Harrland Healthcare Consulting was the 2009 recipient of the Mack H. Hannah Upstart (Business) Award during the Pinnacle Awards sponsored by the Houston Citizens Chamber of Commerce. Please join me.
