There's so much that has transpired this past year, and as I reflect on the experiences of my own life, I have been instructed to write. It is my shabbat, and i enjoy it not only because I believe i am commanded to do so, but more important because I need [so]. Our lives are a master-woven piece of artistry that defies even nature. Some of us have witnessed an incredible feet in [modern] human history this week. The choosing of a man to the office of the President of The United States of America. A man who captures the pain, struggle, and grace of God in all of us. A man who blends what America and Americans are - - black and white and everything in between. I have to come clean. At first, my heart was not right towards this President elect. I had bias towards him. I used my mind, and not my re-born spiritual heart to embrace the goodness of my God through him. I chose to look at the surface of a man who I said "is not like me" and closed my heart to his God-given promise, to let us see God's work in and through his life and appointment to the highest office in our land. Today, as I began the 2nd half of my shabbat, I was awakened to something that had been brewing in me. I needed to repent. I did. First to my God, I apologize for being mean spirited. Now to you, my listeners, readers, friends and family. So on January 20, 2009 I will also (quietly) in Washington, DC be amongst the believers in change to humbly say "I apologize." And I will welcome my brother BARACK which means: ["to bless" or "a blessing" (in Hebrew Barak)] HUSSEIN [semitic which means: "good" or "handsome" (a name he was given in honor of his grandfather)]. In other words "BLESSING THE GOOD OBAMA" into my heart. YES, we can. And God has made sure that we see that He, and He alone is all powerful, all knowing, and all GOD. ALL by Himself. Bless His Name forever! Shabbat Shalom
