SELAH (PAUSE AND THINK ON THIS): Sex Crazed And Ruling Our Thought Life

Let’s talk sex. Yes Sex. Intercourse, copulation, masturbation, penetration.

Why has its beauty, purpose and pleasure become distorted, shapeless, and meaningless? Should it be used as a manipulative tool or target? Could it be that sex "sells" and that’s its only true value?

I beg to differ! Not only are such quotes or mantras an indictment to ones character (or lack thereof), but it goes real deep. So let’s take the time to step back, re-evaluate, and properly address the design and beauty of a sexual relationship, and it’s place and role in human creation. Yes us, the human creation. The most divine of all of creation.

Suffice it to say that blaming everything outside of you is a lame excuse for rampant promiscuity, baby-making & leaving, seed dropping and wasting, and overall neglect of responsibility of your own body, and the body of someone else. How about we take this opportunity to put the role of sex into proper perspective. Its beauty has been given to us by the Divine One. The creator of us all. Why have we decided that marriage and sexual copulation is not necessary? Why have we decided that sex and pleasure, whenever and with whomever, is at the top of our list? This plague has become rampant and truly universal, regardless of ones age race, or culture. This epidemic, I must remind you is not a "young peoples" problem only. Older folks who are supposedly wiser, are more noticeably promiscuous than most would dare to admit. Check your local newspaper or television news broadcast. Need I say more?

How about this. How about we take the time and reflect on the fact that those who are so willingly wanting to use their bodies as a tool or weapon are misfits of reality. No person, regardless of their gender should continue to lay down their bodies as a source of pleasure for the sole purpose of sexual release. Now if you say, "but we are in a committed relationship!", then by all means commit totally and marry that man or that woman. Because hey, you’ve both already given the most priceless of gifts to each other when you open yourself and release yourself into that person. Remember this, there may come a time when you are unable to perform sexually. Whether from sickness, exhaustion, or just life’s mental and emotional challenges. What then? Shall your body die because you have not satisfied that part of your psyche? Hardly! Do yourself and those who are watching you a favor, and remove yourself from such promiscuity. Isn’t it time you intertwined your body with the one and only, who will take you on as their spouse? That’s the one who will take care of your body as if it were their own.

    Pause, and think on that.

    Grace and peace to you,
