What was presented as "change" in America has actually turned into the same old, same old! Only 3 Republican Representatives voted for the largest spending bill in American history and none of them were allowed in committee to merge the House & Senate versions of the stimulus bill.
The hope for many was that with the election of our first Black president and appointment of our first Black US Attorney General Attorney; our country had turned the page on the past centuries of racial prejudice. Unfortunately this same US attorney General how now said that we are "cowards" for not talking more about race. Now with the election we supposedly took steps towards color blindness in our culture. So should we embrace the change that took place or continue to look backwards. Well maybe the Attorney General is correct because 95 percent of African American voters voted for Barrack Obama and a large percentage of them did so for the sole reason that he is black.
We are as divided as ever and when you take the last 3 elections and combind them, almost 50 percent voted Democratic and 50 percent voted Republican. Oh I know there were a few independent voters but I hope you get the point. For a country that started with Christian principles, we are now becoming a Christian/Atheistic/Post Modern nation and subsequently we have inconsistent court decisions, divisive social issues and division between the churches themselves. I believe we are heading towards financial & moral ruin because of our inability to reason out race, religious & social issues. Instead we find others of a like mind and close ranks. As a nation we act as those who have decided to continue enjoying our cruise even though our ship has hit an ice berg. "God could not even sink this ship (country) but if He has been asked to leave our country, then it is possible that our ship may be not unsinkable after all.
