Call in to speak with the host
Tonight’s show will discuss a topic many attempt to avoid: the envy of the Black woman’s body. Black women’s physical features have been ridiculed for centuries; yet many non-Black women pay billions of dollars annually to mimic the Black woman’s natural features.
From butt implants to silicone-injected lips, Black women’s features have been the most duplicated. Yet, mainstream media, movie moguls, and fashion icons demonize Black women and their natural features. Have you heard of Sarah Baartman? If not, check out this YouTube video, Who Is Sarah Baartman? Every Black Woman Should Know Her Name: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ7mmMe4klQ.
There are many stories such as Sarah Baartman’s that are relevant in 2013. Tonight’s guest, Demita Usher, will join me tonight to talk about this important subject without apology.
