Boston Councilor Tito Jackson likes to call himself Man of Action. That's fair enough. He is a do-gooder in the populist/progressive mold.
We'll start with the Commission on the Status of Black Men and Boys in Boston, which he proposed in Council. It will deal with the tough, intertwined problems including violence, unemployment, drugs, and education. Tito is not one to wave off a problem thinking it will take care of itself.
Since his election three years ago, he has been relentless in identifying problems, inclding their underlying causes. Then he proposes and works toward solutions.
