Dr. Coleman is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society and was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the International Education Honor Society in 2008. Outside of the classroom, Dr. Coleman pursues her love of entrepreneurship, writing and singing. In 2007 she founded Equipping Them to Lead, a leadership development company, which is committed to equipping people to do exploits through consulting/coaching, teaching/workshops & seminars, worship/devotion and preaching/motivational speaking. Additionally, Dr. Coleman is the author of three books: Equipping Them to Lead, which chronicles some of the experiences that Dr. Coleman has gained in young adult leadership and mentoring; and Love Letters, a collection of prayers and testimonies and the soon-to-be-released BLACK OWNED: How the Integration of Public Accommodations Affected Black Businesses in Richmond, Virginia.
