Liberty Cap Talk Live: The Special Edition - Season One - Is Over; Show Now on Hiatus for Regular LC

Dear Fans of Liberty Cap Talk Live with Todd Andrew Barnett: The Special Edition Show:

I know many of you are probably wondering: what's happening to LCTL:SpecialEdition. "Is it cancelled, Todd?" "Are you done with radio for good?" Well, if anyone is thinking of or asking those two questions, the answers to both are "No!" and "No!." I'm still gonna do radio, and LCTL:SpecialEdition has not been cancelled; it's just been put on hiatus. After all, this season  was meant to be on a limited 10-episode run (if LCTL didn't come back, it would continue on for 18 more episodes, but that's not gonna happen with this show). No, this show that has just wrapped up its season is meant to be a filler before the regular show premieres on BlogTalkRadio. It's an idea for what to expect for those who had never watched LCTL on BlogTalkRadio and the now-defunct NowLive network. LCTL:SpecialEdition was a show I created on NowLive, which I decided to bring to BlogTalkRadio for the simple reason that I wanted to comment on topics like current events that were happening. It was meant to focus more on culture and society than politics, and I think it has accomplished that a great deal.

Don't worry, as it will come back next year in February or March of 2010, when the political season is heating up. You can count on that.

As for LCTL with Todd Andrew Barnett & James Landrith, Jr., it will be debuting here on LCTL:SpecialEdition's current time slot this upcoming Friday, August 7. It is set for a 28-episode run, as the show had been that way in its early BTR days and, up until recently, on NowLive. My current co-host James Landrith, Jr. will be back with us, and this time it will be better than ever. He will have a bigger role on the show, getting more guests for us on the air - guests who come from a strong pro-Liberty viewpoint. The interactive feature that I used in LCTL:SpecialEdition - the one in which the panelists and I interview the guests - will be duplicated for LCTL. This time the show will be more focused on political current events and less on society and culture.

The URL for Liberty Cap Talk Live with Todd Andrew Barnett & James Landrith, Jr. is @ http://www.blogtalkradio.com/libertycaptalklive. The call-in number there is listed on the page. That show will be on Fridays from 11 p.m. EST to 1 a.m. EST.

This LCTL:SpecialEdition page will be updated to allow podcasts to show up for those who don't have registered accounts with BTR and prefer not to have them. That means all 13 episodes will be featured on the page, so the archives can be made available to the public. While the last episode is currently on rebroadcast for the week, this show will no longer be on rebroadcast mode once the regular show starts on Friday. If you want to hear this past season of LCTL:SpecialEdition on BTR, you'll have to manually play them and enjoy them.

Also the LCTL LAMPlifier Program is in effect, and it will also cover the regular show as well. For little as $3 a month, you can help to spread the message of Liberty not only in the United States but worldwide as well. Please sign up. Lots of ideas in store for LCTL. It will continue on and stay strong, as the dark hours of human liberty rage on and will continue to rage on as we fight the forces of statism and tyranny in the United States and throughout the world.

Thank you all for enjoying the show. LCTL:SpecialEdition will be back next year before you know it. This show would not exist without you.

Once again, thank you very much and enjoy the archives as much as you want.

    Yours in Liberty in Perpetuity,

Show News and Announcement: LCTL LAMP Program

    Dear Listeners of LCTL:

I've decided to create a new payment plan for those who want to help out the show. I'm introducing LCTL's first LAMP Program, which is a system that offers a series of subscription plans to contribute money to me and my co-host James Landrith, Jr. to help fund and offset the costs of doing the show. This program is offered voluntarily. You are not required to subscribe to the program, but, if you'd like to offer to help the show and provide continuous listener feedback, my partner and I would greatly appreciate it. This plan applies to both the original LCTL show and LCTL: SpecialEdition, and it would be wonderful to generate some revenues to reinvest into the show so that we can improve our listener base, increase our bandwidth (with the permission of BlogTalkRadio), etc. There are many things I'd like to do with LCTL: SpecialEdition, but that's only on a limited 10-episode run.

So what is the LAMP program? It is a program that will shine the light of liberty to listeners everywhere. This program is similar to FTL's AMP program, but not only does it "AMP" the show, but it also "LAMPS" it because we are spreading our uncompromising, undiluted message of liberty to libertarians, voluntaryists, and other like-minded individuals who are passionate and loving of the ideals of liberty.

The program stands for (L)iberty (A)dvertising, (M)arketing, and (P)romotion, which is a great way to promote the message of liberty. Whether it's the War on Drugs, the public "government" schools, our foreign policy of interventionism, a national ID card (known as REAL ID, but now becoming PASS ID), the War on Poverty, the War on Terrorism (redubbed the Overseas Contingency Operations), the federal income tax and state income taxes, state sales taxes, immigration prohibition, sex prohibition, etc., the answer is liberty. And, by showcasing that answer, we must relight the fires of liberty in our lifetime. In order to accomplish that, we must use the LAMP program in order for us liberty-lovers to relight the lamp of the Statue of Liberty and restore and reclaim our pro-freedom heritage not in our country but throughout the world as well.

The Program offers the following plans:

    1. LCTL LAMPlifier Regular ($3.00 a month)
    2. LCTL LAMPlifier Silver ($5.00 a month)
    3. LCTL LAMPlifier Gold ($10.00 a month)
    4. LCTL LAMPlifier Platinum ($25.00 a month)
    5. LCTL LAMPlifier Donate (donate as much $x.00 as you want)

While this show is signed up for Revenue Sharing, I doubt it will be enough to cover the costs of the show. Therefore, my partner and I are looking to make this a successful business venture for our regular show, and the plan will also apply to those who love the spin-off as well.

Please sign up for any one of these plans or donate to the show. If you'd like to help, you can donate as little as $3 a month and that will make you a regular LAMPlifier, which will be posted on a new LCTL website that I am planning to create.

If you have any ideas or thoughts, please email me at ToddAndrewBarnett@gmail.com.

Thank you and have a great night!!!

    Yours in Liberty in Perpetuity,

    Todd Andrew Barnett

An Apology to My Listeners Re: LCTL: SpecialEdition 6/26/2009

To my listeners of Liberty Cap Talk Live with Todd Andrew Barnett: The Special Edition Show on BlogTalkRadio.com:

I wish to express my sincere apologies to my listenership and my guests Jessica Pacholski, Gardner Goldsmith, and Republican Liberty Caucus Chairman Dave Nalle for the unfortunate and unexpected incident that took place on the show at 12:21 a.m. in the morning shortly after Dr. Mary Ruwart left the show.

The incident was started because I brought up the subject of Iran, specifically a conservative blogger's guest editorial on Eric Dondero's blog Libertarian Republican, in which the blogger took aim at Dr. Ron Paul for his principled NO congressional vote on Congress's non-binding resolution opposing the Iranian government's actions surrounding the civil unrest exploding in that country. Dave Nalle, the national chair of the RLC, admitted that he didn't agree with Dondero on a lot of things, but he did agree with the criticism of Ron Paul on his opposition to the resolution. I was going to issue my rebuttal to Dave's argument, but that chance was torpedoed when Boston Tea Party of Kansas Chairman Jim Davidson took issue with Nalle's position, stating that it starts with a non-binding resolution and then acts of violence, including murder, on innocent men, women, and children in that country and throughout the Middle East.

Davidson repeatedly attacked Dave Nalle, shouting and screaming at him, which in turn made the entire discussion very uncomfortable and very hostile. He created a hostile environment at that moment. While I agreed with him on his principled stand on the resolution, Jim's attitude towards Nalle was unprofessional, unbecoming, and uncalled for. Legally speaking, I am responsible for the behavior and actions of my guests, but I refuse to be held liable for the irresponsible and obnoxious actions and attitudes of a highly-disturbed man who has unapologetically and unremorsefully put the future of my show in jeopardy. I won't stand for that behavior, and I do not and will not tolerate it. Therefore, Jim Davidson is permanently banned not only as a guest panelist on the show, but also as a listener. I do not want to associate with him ever again, because, to associate with him is an endorsement of what happened on the air. Jim Davidson has a history of being abusive towards people on various discussion lists and websites, and I was dismayed that he would think that he would get away with it on my show. He is quite dead wrong, as far as I'm concerned.

Another reason that I refuse to associate with him is that his once-respected relationship with me makes me look bad on the air and in public. His disgusting behavior puts my reputation at risk. The phrase "guilt by association" does not exist for nothing. Therefore, he's no longer a friend of mine, and I am pleased that he will not be a part of my life as a friend. In many ways, it pains me to do this, but I must; he didn't give me much of a choice. It's either my show or him; I choose my show. As a result of that choice, I have terminated his account at The Freeman Chronicles blog, and I have withdrawn my support for his Individual Sovereignty University project and all and any projects he's affiliated himself with.

As for Dave, I will issue a personal apology to him as well. To Jessica and Gard, I offer the same to you.

Therefore, the show will continue on Friday as planned, and I hope that we can move past this and put it behind us. Thank you all for your support, and I hope to see you all on the airwaves with me @ 11 p.m. EST every Friday night.

Thank you, and fight the state, all the time, everyday, and no excuses!

    Yours in Liberty,

    Todd Andrew Barnett
