Be sure to check out NFPA 68: Standard on Explosion Protection by Deflagration Venting where in Annex E and F is listed the explosive (deflagration)characteristics of combustible dust and flammable gases. Not much difference between the maximum overpressure Pmax and the normalized rate of pressure rise (deflagration index) Kst and Kg between dust and gases. http://www.nfpa.org/aboutthecodes/AboutTheCodes.asp?DocNum=68
