Helping Parents Teach Toddlers To Understand and Use Language

  • Archived Blog Post

    Date / Time:

Welcome to Teach Me To Talk with Laura and Kate

Laura Mize is a pediatric speech-language pathologist, authors her popular web-site www.teachmetotalk.com, and is the developer and producer of the newly released DVD for parents, "Teach Me To Talk  -  The DVD" and the upcoming release "Teach Me To Listen and Obey."  Laura has 15 years experience as an SLP and has been in private practice for the last 10 years providing services for babies, toddlers, and young preschoolers with communication differences including expressive and receptive language delays, apraxia, autism, prematurity, sensory integration dysfunction, cerebral palsy, articulation and phonological disorders, feeding issues, and general developmental delays.

Laura has invited her good friend and colleague Kate Hensler to be her co-host to talk about issues that are important to parents of children with developmental challenges and professionals who provide services for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.

Kate earned bachelors degrees in psychology and nursing.  She holds a masters degree in interdisciplinary early childhood education.  For the past 10 years she's worked in early intervention programs first as a service coordinator, then for the last 8 years, as a developmental therapist.

Listen as Laura and Kate share their experiences and knowledge.  You'll learn what works, what doesn't work, and what you can do to change your approach with young children.
