    Health Care Reform

    Just to recap this morning's show--H.R. 3200 is the bill number for the health care reform legislation. In it's current form, this legislation would require abortion coverage and then because of the way the legislation is designed, it would require that abortion clinics be more readily available so insurees can have access. And no the Hyde Amendment would not apply here because the legislation is not under the House Appropriations bill which is what the Hyde Amendment is related to. Also, any time the House Appropriations bill is up for a new vote, the Hyde Amendment is potentially at risk. During the Congressional break, we need to look at key provisions in the bill and what they mean to Americans who are covered and Americans who are footing the bill.
