Celebrating Native American Women - Alli Joseph

    Celebrating Native American Women -
Although Alli Joseph has been a TV host, journalist and producer, she never focused on her family's history until after her daughter was born. When her mother, the family historian, was diagnosed with cancer, she set about correcting this and spent much of her time desperately trying to capture her mother's thoughts, voice and face on different media. Unfortunately, her mother died just six months later. Alli felt cheated, but knew this could have been avoided. Her greatest regret is now her greatest motivation and led to the creation of Seventh Generation Stories, a personal and family history business in the Native American oral tradition of story-saving. Alli has also produced "The Last Piece", a documentary about saving the ancestral lands of the Shinnecock Indian Nation, of which she is a member.
