Launch Notes Radio - brought to you by Her Startup

Most outlets feature only highly successful women. But we believe it is equally, if not more so, to highlight women whom you may not have heard of, but nonetheless have as much experience and valuable information to share as their better known counterparts. Women are launching business at twice the rate of men, and their presence is not only creating change in the marketplace, but having true social impact.A great disservice when we fail to recognize the contributions of women who walk different paths in favor of only those who grace covers. Whether you are one of the millions of women business owners, a female entrepreneur just starting out, or have an interest in issues concerning women, Launch Notes is for you. Join us each week as our diverse line-up of guests share industry insight, unique perspectives, and information you can apply immediately. This show is produced by Her Startup, LLC, the company helping women realize greater impact than what the bottom line alone can deliver via the launch and growth of socially responsible businesses. Celebrating Native American Women - Alli Joseph

    Celebrating Native American Women -
Although Alli Joseph has been a TV host, journalist and producer, she never focused on her family's history until after her daughter was born. When her mother, the family historian, was diagnosed with cancer, she set about correcting this and spent much of her time desperately trying to capture her mother's thoughts, voice and face on different media. Unfortunately, her mother died just six months later. Alli felt cheated, but knew this could have been avoided. Her greatest regret is now her greatest motivation and led to the creation of Seventh Generation Stories, a personal and family history business in the Native American oral tradition of story-saving. Alli has also produced "The Last Piece", a documentary about saving the ancestral lands of the Shinnecock Indian Nation, of which she is a member.
