Jose Ramon Sanchez, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Political Science and Chair of Urban Studies at Long Island University - Brooklyn 
His education; BA, Columbia University; MA, University of Michigan; PhD, New York University
Dr. Sanchez is a political theorist who has concentrated on urban political economy, American politics and the nature of power, Sanchez is a respected authority on Puerto Rican and Latino politics.  He has published widely in those fields and is author of the book Boricua Power: A Political History of Puerto Ricans in the United States, published by New York University Press.  
He is a co-author of The Iraq Papers, and Board Chair/co-founder of the National Institute for Latino Policy (NiLP).  
Sánchez is the Guest Editor of the forthcoming 2013 special issue, "Latino PowerResurrection," of the journal Camino Real published by the Instituto Universitario de Investigación en Estudios Norteamericanos Benjamin Franklin of the Universidad de Alcalá in Spain (Instituto Franklin - UAH).
