Join our host, Dr. Leonard A. Rubinstein, M.D., and co-host Bernadette Flavell, when they welcome to their show Cindi Carroll, Pilates Instructor, and Gail Condrick, Certified NIA Black Belt Instructor, in a live discussion on the benefits of Pilates and NIA in Anti-Aging, Rejuvenation and Wellness. Call-in to this LIVE broadcast to participate in this informative discussion on Pilates and NIA and how each methodology can help you achieve a more healthy and rejuvenated body. Pilates (pronounced /p?'l??ti?z/) is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates in Germany.[1] As of 2005, there are 11 million people who practice the discipline regularly and 14,000 instructors in the United States. The Pilates program focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine. As NIA practice promotes, "Through Movement We Find Health" for mental, physical and spiritual wellness. NIA (previously Non-Impact Aerobics, Neuromuscular Integrative Action) is a physical conditioning program based on a premise that movement is a pathway for self-discovery and personal transformation. Nia is intended to deliver cardiovascular aerobic exercise and whole-body conditioning. As a movement form, Nia Technique is based on 52 principles that integrate movement modalities from dance, martial arts, and healing practices. Nia blends nine movement forms. Dr. Rubinstein, world-renown Cosmetic Surgeon and Rejuvenation Medicine Specialist, has private practices in Sarasota and Miami Beach, Florida, and has received world-wide recognition for his pioneering techniques in the integration of a holistic approach to the practice of Cosmetic Surgery and Rejuvenation Medicine. He has been selected as "One of America's Top Plastic Surgeons" by the Consumers' Research Council of America and as "One of the 100 Best Cosmetic Surgeons of the World" by the International Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
