La Literati is a show about poetry, books and creative, inspiring people of all kinds. We strive to bring you in depth interviews that illuminate. Every conversation is a story. We hope through our show, the listeners will develop a greater appreciation for writing, reading and those addicting things called book. Join hosts, Tosha Michelle and Jim aka Niles, the constant readers, as they take you on a literary journey of discovery, wonder and the fine art of reading- a Bibliophilia dream. Jim was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2005, he took a class called Writing From Your Life, which focused on creative nonfiction. The class rekindled his love for writing. In 2009, he enrolled in AllWriters' Workplace and Workshop which provided a peer critique group that encouraged and stretched him as a writer. Jim loves outdoor sports. It was his love of camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota that led him to write a memoir about trips he took to the area in the late '80's. The book was published by eLectio Publishing in June of 2014. Jim's poetry collection, Written Life, was recently accepted for publication by eLectio Publishing and will be released on 3/31/2015. Jim graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Anthropology. He has been employed in mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for over 25 years. He works as a GIS Analyst for Waukesha County in the Parks and Land Use Department.
