21 years ago when doctors at one of Los Angeles’ most prestigious hospitals gave Al 72 hours to live after her bowel was nicked during a planned cesarean section, they did not know that her experience would lead to an encounter that would cause a closer and more profound walk with God. That ‘death’ itself would be the catalyst to a reformed mind and to champion a new musical genre. The question is constantly asked, why Urban Country Gospel? The answer for Mac Will is always the same: “it’s Gods will for my life and when you almost die and don’t, only a fool would continue to live life the same.” In that experience along with advice from good friend Stevie Wonder to “call it Urban Country Gospel and no one will be able to tell you what it should sound like” came freedom to a vision and new life to a dream.
