    Date / Time:

Matt Singleton's thought's on the libertarian party.

In recent weeks we have done a few show's involving the libertarian party.
Libertarians seem to have become the dominant third party as of late.  The green party had it's hey day in 2000 while the constitution party had become the largest third party last year only to be deflated by the recruit of the "Campaign for liberty" back into the republican party.
Many independents are now looking at the libertarian party as the party of choice.
I am a republican who has in the past looked at third parties like the constitution party.  here are some of my thoughts.
Unfortunately the laws(some recent) in our country are biased in favor of the two major parties republican and democrat. I don't mind voting any party of candidate if they can do their job.  Yet third party candidates will always have an extremely hard time winning because of this.  We should register under the two major parties for the simple ability to vote in primaries. It doesn't really matter unless you run yourself.

Now as to the libertarian party itself, I think libertarians are advocates of limited government/civil rights and fiscal conservatism.

However their are two party platforms which I can tolerate from the libertarian party and we need to make these obvious.

The first issue is rather obvious and that is the social libertarianism of the libertarian party.  Many libertarians have a strong liberalism in our society advocating for abortion, gay rights, drugs, the adult entertainment industry etc.
Even libertarians who are personally socially conservative are not inclined to limit these activities which the left calls rights.

Conservative libertarians may respond that they are pro-life when it comes to their family. But ultimately these "conservatives" do not want to change a system that allows drug abusing teen-aged girls to keep secret from their parents the fact that they were rape or taken advantaged of by an older boy, and therefore, will secretly pay to have their own children murdered by an abortion dr.  who will lie to them and tell them that they are removing tissue.  Libertarians may say they are for personal freedoms but they have for over 30 years refuse unborn infants the right to live outside of a womb.
Another problem with this social liberalism that encourages sex addiction, gambling and drug abuse is that the more moral evil the less and individual is capable of being responsible for themselves.  This leads to us society that is now weakened to seek dependence upon the government.  How can we have a responsible free society when our members have become a nation of pathetic addicts?  You only accomplish producing a society dependent upon socialism.
The second issue which is not talked about very much at all like the later is "globalism".
Many have not been informed that the libertarian party favors free trade /globalist economics.
In other words they favor the economic system which came through the Nafta and cafta trade agreements of George H.W. Bush(41).
America's economic system today, is careful not to tax companies for moving their companies over seas and laying heavy taxes and regulations upon business that employ workers here in the united states.  Also these same groups are also quick to pay taxes for American workers and not fine illegal immigrants.
Under globalism major corporations are penalized if they give you an American a job.  Yet they are almost rewarded for throwing their money overseas to communists businesses.
Globalism undermines America's constitution also.  Because a one-world economy sooner or later will need a one-world government and currency to keep it going.  Anyone involved will have to abide by the authority of other nations or entities.  Thus many of these treaties by nature undermine our highest laws of the US constitution and put our freedoms at jeopardy.
The attitude is that these elites have a perfect ownership of their money and property.  Yet these businesses have acquired their wealth from the American workers whom they betray.  They claim the unions have abused them too much(regardless of whether you are part of the union or not!) regardless of the fact that they have been infamous for paying their employees 1000's of times less than themselves.  This is nothing more than a ploy from corporate parasites, Whose obvious goal is to warp the system so that they may keep their wealth and prohibit the success of workers.  The robber-barren tactic is procommunism disguised as free market.
The government should have every right to tariff foreign nations(since they do the same to us anyway.  The government tax systems need to be adjusted help the little guy more than the foreign sweatshop slave owner and the greedy execs.  But the elites have lobbyist to make senators ignore us.
So any how I am happy to have libertarians who making a positive difference on my show.  How ever because of the social liberalism and economic globalism the libertarian party can never truly restore our republic.
    Thanks,
    Matt Singleton
