    Dedicated? Or Addicted

    Today I was sick. I woke up feeling nasal and had a nauseous feeling (that competed with hunger all day)...yet, I still needed to call in. I mean, guys...I woke up barely 10mins before the show started and I got peeved for almost missing the intro. Is it that I've become addicted to the laughter? The style of the show? The enjoyment of being around like-minded people sharing the inanity of everyday life? Or is it that I'm a dedicated player in a production that has consumed my free thoughts and time?

    I am always thinking of new things to add to the show. For instance, last night as I was talking to our Mr. Chap, we brainstormed and decided to call the newly named "Insane Asylum's" residents..."The Patients". LMAO I gave them disorders and everything. Our Head Asylum Orderly (and fellow patient) Wizz...suffers from Acute Genitalia Fixation with a Moderate case of Tourette's. LOL He's always talking about women's booties, boobies and yelling out the 1st thing that enters his mind.

    Our newest, yet so very dedicated patient, Butterfly Effect, was given the title of "Nurse Mariposa" (I recently taught her that mariposa means "butterfly" in Spanish) and she is our on site Boob Flexologist. She indeed "flexed" her boobage which lead to our Mr. Chap losing his "non-regional diction" and becoming a straight babbling fool for all of Blogtalk to hear. LOL

    I had fun. In spite of being under the weather. I simply cant express how much fun I am having. It is OH SO serious...that the Kween showed up feeling quite green.

    So, I ask...is it dedication? Or addiction? LOL

    Having Fun, SON!

    I am having FUN, SON! These past few weeks have been a cool roller coaster ride. The ups and downs have been life-changing. I swear it...I am not exaggerating. I have spoken before on my shyness and stage fright. How hard it has been for me to step up and be on the air KNOWING people are listening. Knowing that my speech, personality, views and style are under scrutiny is unbearable and heart-wrenching to me. Yet, I find myself opening up and emerging from a life long shell of fear and introversion.

    That roller coaster ride includes the fear of messing up. The love of people. The joy of people's response. The confusion of being put on the spot (in SO many ways). The frustration for when things go awry...and back to the fear of messing up! LOL

    Co-hosting to me in the beginning was just something to do. Mr. Chap asked me to be his co-host and before the fear of it could settle in, I said yes. I know how much he loves this stuff and I had enjoyed a brief stint at co-host status on Mahogany Dymond's show (due for return in June) I liked it, but I never had responsibilities that went past being myself and showing up. With this show, I have input and am expected to deliver ideas from time to time, as well as filling in as Mr. Chap's pinch hitter.

    I have to thank, Chap for helping me with my fears. Telling me over and over that I could do this. Thanks to Ebony Eyes for helping me when I had to go on without "The Chap" a few times...she's been a dear about it. I want to thank Mahogany for asking me to be a part of her show before her hiatus and allowing me a segment, which has become one of my signature moments, "Ask Kiwi". Thanks to all the people who I've invited and who have come through for a listen...all to become as addicted to this experience as I have become.

    Never know...maybe one day, you all may see me with my own show. ("The Kweendom" has a nice ring to it!) LOL

    Not Rain, Sleet or TORNADO...

    Ok, I blogged this earlier but due to technical difficulties (the running theme of the day) I lost that blog...it may have been picked up by a tornado and will drop down later...or not.

    Today Chap and I had a show at the regularly scheduled time of 10am-12pm (EDT). Unfortunately, Chap had storm warnings in his area and we didnt go on as hoped. I didnt feel like trying to run the show solo (Ebony Eyes was MIA due to errands) so we held the chat room down with Wizz and Dancing Dani...for TWO WHOLE HOURS! Finally, Chap managed to get another show scheduled for 12-2pm (EDT) and we went on. We did run into more technical difficulties, where we lost the show for a few minutes...because the storm decided to pick on our Chap and knock out his power. AND, the Kween's phone decided to NOT bow down in reverance and show ITS ass at the moment...which lead to a complete blackout. I finally called back in, just in time for Ebony Eyes to show up (she's my lifesaver...not to be confused with lightsaber) LOL. Chap signed onto the show shortly thereafter and we commenced to the bizness of SHOWTIME!

    We played a few rounds of "Don't say Umm" and "Gimme 5". Wizz got quizzed on "The Color Purple" with some help from a cheating chat room denizen. (Whaaaat?)
    I failed the E.T. quiz (BOOOOO) and we debuted our 1st "Pump it, or Bump it" segment where BigSpook an independent rapper debuted his song, "Dang Girl"...which prompted Chap to feed us a little "Pound Cake" which the gang feasted on! (there was booty shaking and hip twisting in the chat room, SON!)

    In spite of our difficulties, I believe we had a great show. We had callers (Wizz, Dani and ICNotes), Chap's Aunt Cat came in and curled up on our chat room couch...we had games, music and laughter. Although we didnt have a "smooth" show...we had a fun-filled show. Who can say that their listeners stick around when the show is dead? That will CHAT without a show streaming for 2 hours just to be in the mix? WE CAN SAY THAT! And, to me...that is a perfect show. A show that has mix-ups but still manages to satisfy the audience's craving for our flavor.

    The Talk Show Kween

    Hellur...Its been quite a few interesting weeks. Between starting out as a guest, then co-host on Mahogany's Wild Out Wednesdays...to co-hosting Mr. Chap's Morning Show, I have become very comfortable with the online talk arena.

    I am VERY shy. I have had stage fright since a little girl...from the moment my mother put me in the school's kindergarten fashion show...to the play we did of A Charlie Brown Christmas. I have the talent for singing, but to my mother's chagrin...I wouldn't sing in front of people (except for the brief stint as a soloist in the church choir).

    Yet, here I am...Kween Kiwi, co-hosting a talk show. TODAY though, I did something I dreaded (with the help of my sister Ebony Eyes). I OPENED THE SHOW!!! WITHOUT CHAP!! LOL  I think we did pretty well, and I think from now on when Chap asks me to come out of the break, I can actually do it. So, this show is definitely coaxing me out of my shell. Allowing me to unfurl and be more extroverted. To share my talents, my style of expression and my laughter with those willing to take a couple of hours out of their day.

    I hope you all enjoy our show and continue to return for more Kiwi to be revealed.
