Biography of our Guest Speaker
Abu Khaliyl Jadd Sylvester
Abu Khaliyl Jadd Sylvester. He is an American who is originally from Philidelphia. He accepted Islam in the mid 1980's and he used to publish books for the operation Ad-Da'wah to Laa ilaaha illallaah wa Muhammadur-Rasoolullaah in Philadelphia. Then he went to work for QSS late 80's early 90's under the leadership of Muhammad Al-Jibaly.
At QSS he authored and translated a number of works for the Jam'iyah such as Straightening the Rows for Prayer, The Ruling on Isbaal, Principles of Commanding the Good and Forbidding the Evil, and so forth. He also co-authored works with Jibaly. At the same time he was the chief editor and translator for Hudaa newspaper that many of us are familiar with.
Eventually he moved to Riyadh, KSA, in August 1999 to work at Darussalam Publishers head office for two years. There he worked as the chief editor for the famous 10 volumes of Tafsir Ibn Kathir under the supervision of Shaykh Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri.
When Tafsir Ibn Kathir was finished he returned to the US and found and continues to operate Dar al-Kitab wal Hikmah in Mobile, Alabama. Abu Khaliyl is the author of many works that can be found at www.dkh-Islam.com He also works behind the scenes as a translator and editor for Darussalam as translator of Tirmidhi for and the reviewer for the rest of the six books being published now by them (Muslim (completed) Abu Dawud, Nasa'i and Ibn Majah), etc.
He has ijaazah (permission to teach) from Shaykh Safi-ur-Rahman in the Kutub-us-Sittah (Bukhaaree, Muslim, Aboo Daawood, at-Tirmidhee, An-Nasaa'ee and Ibn Maajah) and actively teaches them online.

Shaykh Abdullaah Mar’ee Al-Adeni
The Shaykh started his study in 1406 hijrah/1986 by the study of the Qur’aan with Shaykh Muhammad Alta’izzy and completed it’s recitation twice and completed his study of the Qur’aan in the year 1409 He had already gone to Dammaj to Studied at Darul Hadeeth in 1408 and stayed with Al Allamah the Muhadith Muqbil ibn Haadee Al Wadee and studied Saheeh Al Bukhari and Muslim, Kitaabu Tawheed from ibnu Khuzaymah. The Shaikh reached most of the senior students that where still present at that time in Dammaj from the Shaykh Muhammad ibnu Abdil Wahhab Al Wasaabee and studied with him Aqeedatu Tahawyyah.
The Shaikh traveled to Saudi in 1412/1992
His stay in Qasiim and Riyaad
1. The Shaykh stayed with Al Allamah Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Uthaimeen for four years and a half (One of his Teachers). From what he studied with him in (small circles) Mabaahith fi Al-hamuwyah, At Tadmaryahwa Sharhuhu alaa Nuniyah, Al Qawaa’id An Nuraaniyah wa Naqd Talbies Al Jahmyah, As Sawaa’iq
During that same period, Shaykh Abdullaah spent the hours of the day, when Shaikh Al Uthaimeen wasn’t teaching, to take knowledge from other Mashaykhs (Teachers).
Scholars Who Taught Him
1. The Shaykh, Faqeeh, Scholar of the Arabic language: Abu Saaleh Abdullaah ibnu Saaleh Faaleh. Shaykh Abdullaah studied with him “Motoon” of sarf from it, Al Asaas wa’l Binaa, At Tasreef from Az Zanjaany, and At Tasreef from Muhyyud Deen Abdul Hameed, Shadh Ul’arf. and in Nahu: Alqatr, Ashoodhoor and ibnu Aqeel.
2. Al Allamah Shaykh Ibn Baaz former Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia: Shaykh Abdullaah Mar’ee Al-Adeni used to attend some of his lessons and ask him about what was problematic to him on weekends (Thursdays and Fridays) and holidays.

Shaykh Abdullaah as-Saumaali - One of the teachers of Shaykh Muqbil bin Haadee as-Waadi’ee. Studied a portion of Sahih al-Bukhaari with the Shaykh at Dar al-Hadeeth al-Khairiyyah in Makkah.
Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-Uthaymeen - Attened the Shaykh’s classes in I’tikaaf in the last 10 days of Ramadaan in the Haram of Makkah since for years.
Shaykh bin Humaid of the Haram of Makkah - During his stay at Dar al-Hadeeth al-Khairiyyah went through the commentary of Nayl al-Awthaar of Imaam ash-Shawkaani with the Shaykh in the Haram of Makkah.
Shaykh Muhammad Najeeb al-Mutee’I - One of the leading scholars of the Shaafi’ee madhab, also considered next to Imaam an-Nawaawi in the Shafi’ee madhab in his time. Attended his classes in Jeddah on Fath al-Baari of Imaam Ibn Hajar al-Asqalaani.
Shaykh Hasan Ayub - Studied with the Shaykh for five years. One of the leading Ikhwaani movement scholars in Egypt and then a professor in Kuwait, then in the King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah and the Khateeb of al-Moudi Masjid in Jeddah.
Has Ijaazah (permission) for the narration of the hadeeth with lineage from Shaykh Abdul-Mannaan an-Noorpuri of Pakistan.
