When people ask me that I do, first I answer that I am a stay at home homeschooling mom of four. Then I add: in my spare time I design and write knitting patterns, and co-edit an online loom knitting magazine called Loom Knitters Circle, and I have even written a book on the subject called Learn to Knit on Circle Looms! Hmm did I mention I have no spare time? Let's talk knitting!

Episode 4: What is Your Favourite Knitting Refernce Guide?

It was great to get ideas from all over of your favourite go to places for knitting reference!
I was super suprised and happy to hear from Juliann (aka The Sick Chick) from England and also from  Karen andGeorg!! Thanks for calling in!!

Some of the great go to sites mentioned were KnittingHelp.com, LoomKnit.com and Ravelry.

The main book that was mentioned as a great go to guide was The Book of Yarn by Clara Parkes.

This show was  dedicated to Joel Pennington a great knitter and dad who was recently killed in a traffic accident two weeks ago. Our hearts go out to his wife and daughters as well as the two girls who were in the other vehicle and lost their mother as well. If you are interested in helping with a comfort afghan project for these girls please email me  or if you are in Ravelry you can get details in the Afghans for Joel's Girls group.

The music in tonight's show is as usual from the Podsafe Music network. The song featured was Ocean by Iona Leigh you can listen to it here It is a beautiful song!

Also I mentioned that Isela (my partner in crime) is doing the MS ride. She will be riding her bike 75 miles to raise money to help wipe out MS!! So if you want to support her in her efforts please go to this entry on her website: The Purling Sprite  She is giving away a great knit kit, and I tell you what I was chatting with her when she bought that kit and I know she was uber excited about it so it is a big deal.. she is SERIOUS about getting sponsors!!

Thank you all for listening. The winner of the Learn to Knit on Circle Looms book is Georg, and the winner of the Knitters Reference Guide to Yarn is Juliann!!

Thanks to all who listened, and those of you listening on the archives please do be sure to leave a comment, and rate the show!
