    The Bill Archer Interview

Bill Archer was born October 13, 1969 in Texas City, TX. He attended community college at near by College of the Mainland before enlisting in the army. During his time in the military he was writing songs and singing to anyone who would listen. Bills love of music can be attributed to his Grandmother Ruth Archer she owned a few well known bars in the area were Bill would make his first stage appearance with the house band at the age of seven. Singing karaoke and setting in with a number of other bands Bill’s love for country music grew as well as his fan base. “I loved singing and writing country music and loved watching the people around me but I didn’t think I fit the country image”. Finally in March 2005 he decided it was time and went into a recording studio for the first time, he cut 6 original songs which would eventually land him his first record deal with MGM Nashville. In late 2007 he parted ties with MGM and thought of giving up, but thanks to the support of his family and friends he decided to make an independent effort and in June 2008 he stepped into Astra Studios owned by friend and fellow artist Keith McCoy. “The atmosphere was different the players were different and my song writing style had matured” he recorded Cancun which became his launching pad for things to come. A local radio station 93Q KKBQ owned by COX Media in conjunction with Kenny Chesney’s Next Big Star contest would prove to be another door opening opportunity. From all the submission entered only four could move on to the final showdown and their chance to open for Kenny. Alas to spite his best efforts Bill did not win but he did not give up he started looking for new avenues to be heard and seen. In January 2009 Bill received a call from a representative of 2 time Grammy award winner Larry Butler requesting a meeting at Sony Music Publishing in February of 2009 in Nashville. Bill is now currently negotiating a deal with for production and management. Larry has produced some of the l

    The Sharon Poppen Interview

Sharon Poppen grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised by a loving grandmother in a house consisting of her mother, a younger brother, a grandfather, three teenage uncles and an aunt only nine years her senior. They were a wild and crazy, in a nice way, bunch that thrived in an atmosphere of caring and protective love. Sharon was a quiet child who loved playing paper dolls. The neighborhood girls said they couldn't play if Sharon wasn't around, because she made up the best stories. They'd play for hours in their own little version of soap opera sagas. Even then, character development was what drove Sharon's creativity. By age fifteen, her mother had remarried and given birth to a sickly child forcing the family out of the cold Midwest winters into the sunny and bright Southern California coast where she graduated from high school. Since then, she's been an avid student of the University of Real Life, URL. And while it may not have been filled with wise professors and thick textbooks, it brought her into the world of decision-making, coping without a safety net and a look at the good, the bad, the beauty and the ugliness of human nature. Her journey through the years has had her living for periods of time in Albuquerque, NM; Simi Valley, CA; Livermore, CA and finally to the wonderful Southwest desert of Lake Havasu City, AZ. To pay her way she worked for a time at the University of New Mexico in the early days of the computer and campus unrest. However, most of her working career was spent with the Pacific Bell Telephone Company from which she retired. Retirement brought her the opportunity to travel and there are few states that she has not visited, including Alaska and Hawaii. The URL also brought her a couple of husbands, two wonderful children, three delightful stepchildren and five darling grandchildren. During the years sh

    The Rosemary Chaulk Interview

About the Author: Rosemary Chaulk.. Can land be cursed or is it just the tortured souls who roam it who are cursed? If man disappeared would the land still be cursed? North Village caught my attention because of the curse of the witch. In doing my research, I found that North Village was doomed long before the witches ever came, if the were, indeed, witches at all. While telling tales of Indian Spirits and witches, I use this platform for my true message, which is the history of pollution and its catastrophic effects on man and earth. We took America from the natives and the first thing we did was to decimate the woods, pollute the rivers and torture the land for anything we could take for profit. We dammed the rivers and killed the salmon and left ourselves and our neighbors to die from the overload of toxins in the environment. I want this book to tell an historical tale in a readable way so as to convey the message that it’s not over. In many ways, we’re still doing this to the earth and to ourselves. The air we breathe is polluted and our tap water is loaded with chemicals man should not ingest. Our food is processed and devoid of nutrition. We coat our bodies with chemically based soaps, creams, makeup, shampoos, and dyes. Then we wonder at the increase in chronic illness in our world. This book can and should be a much-needed wake-up call if we’ll just let it.

    The Jay Speight Interview

A natural-born musician, singer/songwriter Jay Speight began playing piano at age 9, singing in junior high, picked up guitar while a sophomore in college and was inspired early on by such musical legends as Billy Joel, Elton John, Lionel Ritchie and The Eagles to name a few. Upon graduation, Jay moved to Nashville where he interned, and later worked for, Universal Records Nashville as a receptionist. In 2005 he got his first break, being co-signed by Pitchfork Music Group and Scott Lynch & Company as a staff songwriter. Most recently, his song “High Time For Gettin’ Down” was recorded by Travis Tritt on last years’ album “The Storm” (produced by Randy Jackson of American Idol fame).

    The 20 Mile Interview

20MILE is shoving music into unchartered territory, creating boisterous yet groovy melodies that often marry sounds of southern hip-hop beats, Pop, and touches of old-school and modern R&B. Their amalgamation of musical genres is being affectionately dubbed "Southern Pop". Their sound is a little of what you’ve heard and plenty of what you haven’t, and, in this case, the familiar introduces the foreign, easily baiting fans and followers with a refreshing urban yet universal sound. Laying prophetic lyrics on top of certifiably hot tracks comes effortless to the prolific songwriters. When asked their musical influences, they cite the likes Prince, Outkast, Boyz II Men, etc, but when asked whose style could be noticed in their new album, they will tell you that this one was inspired by life--their own lives and others. If they were not given an opportunity to contribute to the music industry, their abstract sound would have likely never be heard. But the gods have smiled on Southern Music and Pop fans, alike. Indeed, international ramifications are awaiting this special group. 20MILE is the group that will cause you to forget the everyday trials and struggles of life for a moment, showing the listener that it is, once again, acceptable to daydream, to chill, to be free. By fusing lyrics wrought with tales of ’real life’ and creative tracks, 20Mile coins their own brand and secures their place in music for many years to come.
