    The Mike Lewis Interview

My name is Mike Lewis. I was born in Spokane, WA in 1971. I have been married for 18 years and have 4 very wonderful children. I am a 37 year old Singer/Songwriter on the Blaze Records label. A Indy label from ohio with Sony connections. I am also a Songwriter/musician for G-Spot Productions. A R&B/Soul label from Boise, ID. I began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 15. It was always just a hobby playing at private events for fun. I was inspired about 4 years ago when I met Steve Holy. We got to know each other pretty well although his sister Meg was really awsome. After spending the entire day with Steve. That night I was standing there at the stairs to the backstage watching him perform and talking with his sister I knew that was exactly what I wanted to do. I then purchased all the equipment needed to start recording my own songs. I was a printing pressman by day and a songwriter by night. The first year I began my career as a songwriter I found myself so wrapped up in my music. I spent 4 hours a night in the studio writing and all day Sundays. I calculated 2400 hours in the first year in my studio. My big song was when I was sitting in my studio one Sunday and I had this really great rhythm going and I just started kind of making up lyrics and came up with the “Taylor Swift” Idea. After I recorded the song and put it on myspace it just kind of took off. Taylor Swift fansites were playing it all over the place. I never thought the song would go crazy the way it did. Anyway I started getting all these lyricists asking me to help them. Being the kind of good hearted guy I am. I agreed to help them put music to their lyrics and co-write together. So we wrote about 6 songs together. Recently I feel I have been blessed by getting hooked up with Ray Stephenson a Sony signed writer. The same guy that wrote “Willie’s Guitar” and many more songs that have been recorded by 25 or so major singers including Steve Holy, Guy Clark and the Wilkinsons just to name a

    The JoCaine Interview

At the intersection of Interstate 75 and Nine Mile Road, you will find "Hazel Park", Michigan. An unassuming suburb just outside of Detroit, lovingly dubbed "Hazeltucky" by its residents and just a stones throw from the original Model T factory. This is where JoCaine forges southern rock with Yankee pride. JoCaine has been filling A-rooms all over metro Detroit, upstaging national acts and have managed to land his redneck, white trash, blue collar rock on more than one Hollywood motion picture soundtrack (Lonestar State of Mind, Laurel Canyon, The Last Run) and a popular TV series (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation). JoCaine's original intentions were not to pursue a music career. As a 6' 4", 245 lb. All-American tight end in college, Joe Binki had plans to go pro. An absolute hurricane with a football in his hands, his teammates christened him "JoCaine". Football took a backseat, though, when JoCaine decided to double down on his skills on the mic. Check out the 2003 release entitled "Piggy Back Ride", recorded at Pearl Sound (MPA) and produced and engineered by the infamous Chuck A (Tori Amos, Tool, Bob Seger, Eminem, Robert Plant). "Piggy Back Ride" features 10 slices of world-class rock and country served up side-by-side. "Piggy Back Ride" has sold over 6000 copies in the metro Detroit area alone, the title "Piggy Back Ride" is a reference to the wishful thinking and hangers-on of the entertainment industry. "The toes you step on today may be connected to the ass you kiss tomorrow." Words of warning that grace the homepage of JoCaine (www.JoCaine.com) A good friend of Jo's you all know him as "Uncle Kracker" has lent his voice to "Neck Of The Woods", a barn-burning rocker on the latest work-in-progress from JoCaine. The new album, titled "Can't you Smell Whats Cooking?", also features the legendary saxophone of Alto Reed, from Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band, blowing on the instant classic Underprivileged Baby.. To the enlightened masses th

    The David Walker Interview

David Walker has been defying all odds of today's music and breaking the mold in the music industry.. truly said, a Modern day Country Beethoven! David while profoundly deaf, has the ability to hear with a Cochlear Implant, which is a modern day device that is surgically implanted. (yes kinda like the Bionic man). He lost his hearing when he was 5 years old, due to a bout with spinal meningitis and Scarlett Fever. He started writing at the age of 12, and started singing as best he could around that age as well, craving the spotlight and attention of family members and friends alike. David has always been a performer to some degree, be it music or comedy. In high school, he made his debut as a comedian in which he performed in local comedy clubs in Tulsa Oklahoma. Jokers comedy club was his first real gig, besides the local talent show. He's also performed at the Tulsa Comedy Club as well. While he enjoys comedy, Music is his passion. David is a very talented melodic writer and Lyricist. he enjoys listening to others play and getting ideas, and listening to lyrics, (reading them mostly) and finding different ways to say things. As his writing talent grew, he became more frustrated by having to rely on others to put the "music" that was in his head, out into the real world. taking the time, he has spent the last 2 years learning to play the acoustic guitar. While he will always have to rely on the help of his fellow musicians, and co-writers for accents and other melody enhancement, his ability to write with a guitar enhances his work, and gives him more musical freedom. David is currently active Member of NSAI, Nashville Songwriters Association International. Prior to moving to Tennessee, he served as one of NSAI's coordinators for the Regional Workshop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His current role besides being an active member, is serving on the NSAI Adopt-A-Shop committee, that matches pro writers with workshops all over the nation. In November of 2004, Davi
