The Jennifer Sugar & Jill C. Nelson Interview

On August 8th 2004, 21 year old Jennifer Sugar attended a pivotal event in Hollywood that set her on the path toward co-authoring her first biography titled, John Holmes: A Life Measured in Inches. The event, "Fit for a King" was a posthumous, honorary 60th birthday celebration for Holmes, whereby Sugar, a Michigan university student, networked with several people who proved to be instrumental in helping her to accomplish her goal. Ironically, Sugar was only 5 years old when Holmes passed away in 1988, at age 43, from AIDS-related causes. Approximately two and a half years later, after meeting online through their mutual interest in their subject, Sugar invited 49 year old Canadian hearing instrument specialist and mother of two, Jill Nelson, to co-write the biography. The two authors began to forge their unique collaboration. Interestingly, neither Sugar or Nelson had any previous affiliation with the rated xxx movie industry, yet, they succeeded in establishing trust and confidence within the adult entertainment community. Sugar and Nelson researched their subject extensively, while conducting interviews with 35 people who had known, worked with, and/or loved John Holmes. Presented as an oral history, their intensive project consisted of compiling their own new interviews with previous interviews, along with other resources, in order to produce the consummate and comprehensive: A Life Measured in Inches -- the first biography about the erotic film legend and pop culture icon. At an impressive 584 pages, "Inches" contains three photos sections (including rare nudes), 114 feature film reviews and 86 loops synopses, all viewed and written by the two authors. Sugar and Nelson worked diligently to generate the current 21 page filmography, encapsulating data from Holmes' earliest film work. Adult film historian, William Margold, contributed the book's Foreward, "Hard Core Martyr". On its publication date, August 8th, 2008, John Holmes.

    The JW Parvin Interview

Pleasure to meet you, allow me to introduce myself.... My name is JW Parvin. I guess it all started for me at a young age, when I was asked to join the church choir in my small hometown. Soon enough, I was asked to do solo's. I was very nervous at first, but soon my love for performing overtook my "jitters". I remember singing my mom's favorite hymn "O' Victory In Jesus". As I got older, I was always the boy in the mirror rehearsing with a hairbrush and belting it out with the radio. Later in high school, to my surprise, I was asked to lead some guys in a talent contest! We did a cover of George Strait....HAD A BLAST...but, did not win!!! Some of my favorite memories, are of having my friends over and singing along with the radio as if we were putting on a show. Growing up, my Mom and Dad had a place on a lake for years and in my teenage years I would sneak out to the bar and sing with the band. For me, there was nothing like the feel of being on stage in front of a crowd!!! I would get so caught up in the music that I would find myself on top of tables, doing my best to get the crowd involved and on their feet. I have to say... It worked well too. Eventually is discovered Karaoke contests and to my amazement, I won the second one i ever competed in. I really love to entertain. After winning several contest, I then put together a band and started doing live shows practically every weekend, and sometimes twice per weekend. The tremendous praise I receive from a great performance is so flattering to me even after all these years. I have quite a few loyal followers, who keep me inspired. To me there is no better feeling than putting life into words through my music. I guess thus far the highlight of performing for me was playing at the Talladega Super Sppedway for the campers and race fans. When you have thousands of music lovers singing with you and cheering you in it is beyond a natural high and there is no comparison. To take my talent to a higher platueau.

As a young child he was exposed to the sounds of Ray Charles, B.B. King, Dinah Washington and a host of other great jazz, blues, and R&B artist from his father. His mother , on the other hand had him listening to the likes of Bob Seger, Charley Pride and Conway Twitty! At the age of 10 he started singing on a local church choir, as well as learn to play the organ, saxaphone and guitar. At the age of 17 he joined the U. S. Marine Corps, where he thought he had found is true calling....being a U. S. Marine. The music, however, remained a soothing and motivating force throughout! In 2000 Billy started driving truck. Driving along the highways of America at night, ideas of songs, life on the road, loves lost and had, started working their way into his thoughts. In 2008, he recorded his first demo in Nashville, a cover of the Travis Tritt classic "Anymore", as well as "Too Far To Turn Around". Now Billy knew what he wanted to to do. In March of 2009, working again with Mark Mosley and some help from Gary Paxton in Branson, Missouri, he hit the studio again. The result being his current debut CD, "Truckload Of Load".
