  {Quarters was puzzled by the stare the guy had given him. After Quarters and Yolonda finished their drinks they got up to leave. When Quarters opened the door the brightness of the sun blinded him for a split second, in that second his body was lifted into the air and thrown backwards hard into Yolonda, knocking her back through the door of the bar, and to the floor. Quarters landed on top of her, the right side of his chest exploded in pain and heat. Quarters knew he had been shot, by the time he heard, the sound of the gun the bullet was already at its destination.
    
  Yolonda scrambled to her feet slipping on blood that had leaked out of Quarters body as she ran to a payphone that was on the wall. Quarters heard Yolonda, but her voice sounded distant. He knew it was Yolonda’s hands that cradled his head, but he couldn't’t speak. His insides were burning up and he was in extreme pain. All Quarters kept thinking about was how he didn't’t want a bunch of people staring at his dead corpse. Quarters prayed the ambulance would come and get him, and he would die on the way to the hospital. Quarters heard more voices and felt his body being lifted up, before he passed out.}
