God first. People now. It is not Black versus White, nor Muslim versus Christian, nor man versus woman, nor rich versus poor, nor government versus the people. It is, however, virtue versus vice. We are all just people relating to people. we do not claim to have equal opportunity opinions. we do not claim to think we all have the right to do whatever makes us happy. we do not claim to be the authority on anything other than our opinions. we respect your time. we apprieciate you. be easy. and enjoy. please join us wednesdays at 11 p

1. Fix leaking pipes. A leaking toilet can waste up to 15 gallons a day and a leaking faucet can waste up to 20 gallons of water a day. Not only does this waste water, but it also unnecessarily raise your monthly water bill.
2. Only operate the dishwasher and washing machine when you have a full load. This will help you decrease your water usage and the amount of energy you use each month.
3. Sweep your porches, sidewalks and drive ways instead of washing away debris with a water hose.
4. Reduce the amount of waste you produce by not using disposable razors, batteries, plates, cups and napkins.
5. Shred and recycle your junk mail and newspapers. Most city and county waste department also offer recycling services, and this can be a great way to dispose of the massive amount of junk mail you receive each day.
6. To reduce the overall amount of junk mail you receive, you can send a written letter to Mail Preference Service Direct Marketing Association and ask them to remove you from their mailing list. Their address is P.O. Box 9008, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
7. Opt for reusable products instead of disposable ones. Try Tupperware or Rubbermaid plastic ware in place of Ziploc plastic bags. You can also replace paper napkins with cloth ones or bring your own canvas shopping bags to the supermarket instead using their disposable bags.
8. Recycle your plastic and aluminum food and beverage containers. These services are usually offered as a part of your local recycling service.
9. Purchase food and beverages that are packaged in recyclable containers. These containers are notated by the recycle symbol, which is the triangle made from arrows.
10. Try e-cycling or recycling electronic devices. Cell phones, computers, rechargeable batteries, and even large appliances like refrigerators and washing machines can be recycled. If these supplies are still useable, you can even donate them to charity or a local family who could use them.
11. Pay bills and receive statements online. Not only will this cut down on the amount of paper waste your produce, but it will also save you money on the purchase of postage, envelops, checks, and other supplies.
12. Opt for safer, non-toxic cleaning supplies. Baking soda and vinegar are two great products that can be used for cleaning. Oprah also recommends the Shaklee Get Clean starter kit. It’s available at www.shaklee.com.
13. Buy plants and plant trees. Greenery reduces the amount of carbon in the air and produces more oxygen. As these plants clean the air, they are also reducing the effects of global warming and climate change.
14. Change your transportation habits. Try combining errands, carpooling, or riding public transportation. All options reduce fuel and air pollution. They will also help you save money on the ever rising costs of gasoline.
15. Purchase organic foods and products. According to the USDA National Organic Program organic food is produced by farmers who emphasize the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality for future generations.
