Six steps to obtain Employment without a High School Diploma

Six Steps to obtain Employment without a High School Diploma

1.Most employers are looking for candidates who have a great work ethic, flexibility and can be a team player.  Employers want to hire someone who can work without supervision and pay attention to details.  If you have gained experience in the  workforce that is a plus, however although experience is helpful being a quick learner is a quality any company will value.

2.Dress very professional and talk with confidence.  Always smile and give eye contact when shaking an employer hand.  Answer the question to the best of your ability.

3.Marketing yourself is the key to success.  If your introduction is strong you will make a great impact on the hiring manager.  Look out for these questions.  Tell me about yourself? and Why should I hire you?  Keep your answers work related and brief through out the interview.  Highlight your strength and work experience over the years.

4.Resume and references are very important in the interviewing process.  Always come prepared to conduct business and submit references upon demand.

5.Enroll yourself in a community college over the next 90 days while on the job.  Most community colleges will allow you to obtain your GED and earn college credits. 24 months later you've accumulated enough credits for your GED and Associates degree.

6.Thank you letters can have a positive result in a manager's hiring decision. It tends to keep you on the radar when the final decision is made.   Letters should be sent out in 24 hours of the interview.
