    Today's Show - 27 February 2008

    Well, another edition is online.

I had a phone connection problem at the start and had to redial, so there is a few minutes of dead air prior to the 5 minute mark. Sorry. I know what the problem was, so it won't happen again.

I did realize that I could have played music while I redialed, since the BlogTalkRadio connection didn't close. My guests were connected, so the 'channel' was still open.

Today's lineup featured Mark Hendricks, an internet marketing consultant; Gary Levine, a developer of underwater projects; William Braemer, artist and gallery owner, and Richard Stewart, publisher of the Ocean Realm Journal.

William will be back on BlogTalkRadio Monday, March 3rd at Noon, during Miami Art Online, a new show with a focus on Miami's artist community - artists, galleries and related events. Check out ArtFusionGallery.com.

  • Original Air Date:

    Liquid Lounge - 27 Feburary 2008

Today's show will feature a conversation with Mark Henrdrick regarding internet marketing and how BlogTalkRadio fits into the maze of internet options. WEB 2.0 is the term used for the current generation of social media. Mark consultant and the founder of the Internet Success System.

William Braemer is an artist and gallery owner in Miami, Florida. He is my guest during the Miami Art Online segment. We'll talk about his tribute to the endanger species of the world - Serena - a life-size mermaid incorporating 6,000 pennies in the tail and a variety of recycled materials in the torso. William and I are working on a spin-off program that will feature artists who have work on display at his Art Fusion Gallery. Miami Art Online will feature gallery owners and artists on BlogTalkRadio every Monday from Noon to 1 PM beginning in March.

The International Year of the Reef is an official designation that includes the Coral Reef Symposium in July at the Broward County Convention Center - Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Richard Stewart and I will talk about the new edition of the Ocean Realm Journal and his recent trip to Costa Rica during the Ocean Realm Report.

This week's show will highlight the International Year of the Reef and related activities, including the Coral Reef Symposium in July.

Between now  and then, Miami should have a new project underway. Called the Miami Beach Connection, developer Gary Levine is working with Miami Dade County's Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) to connect serveral of the reefs in the Miami Beach Wreck Trek with vertical stacks of circular reef material. Gary will call-in with an update.

Other topics include stories from the new edition of the Ocean Realm Journal, a progress report on the BlueGreen Network and a discussion of underwater art. If you have not seen Grenada's newest tourism attraction, take a look at Jason de Caires Taylor's Underwater Sculpture Garden.

According to his website, 'the world’s first underwater sculpture park has gained international recognition. His sculptures highlight ecological processes while exploring the intricate relationships between modern art and the environment. By using sculptures to create artificial reefs, the artist’s interventions promote hope and recovery, and underline our need to understand and protect the natural world.'
