    MY Life Journey is MINE

    MY LIFE JOURNEY IS MINE

So often I see people start on a journey of major life change for the wrong reason. If they are doing it at the insistence of others or to get something back, they may have success on the short term, but in the long term end up failing!

Similarly, when I wanted the changes just for me, I wanted others close to me to jump on the train and take the journey. That didn’t work either!

My own experience has taught me that I had to move forward in the process of life recovery for me and on my own. Others have to make their own choices. Funny how sometimes the power of example works out!

My change also frightened some around me. But change I did! I know after time others around me started a journey just for them. The reminder of this:

    Moving Forward

Much as we would like, we cannot bring everyone with us on this journey called recovery. We are not being disloyal by allowing ourselves to move forward. We don't have to wait for those we love to decide to change as well.

Sometimes we need to give ourselves permission to grow, even though the people we love are not ready to change. We may even need to leave people behind in their dysfunction or suffering because we cannot recover for them. We don't need to suffer with them.

    It doesn't help.

It doesn't help for us to stay stuck just because someone we love is stuck. The potential for helping others is far greater when we detach, work on ourselves, and stop trying to force others to change with us.

Changing ourselves, allowing ourselves to grow while others seek their own path, is how we have the most beneficial impact on people we love. We're accountable for ourselves. They're accountable for themselves. We let them go, and let ourselves grow.”

This is a message that is constantly driven home as I witness others starting out, and a good reminder to me.

    EMOTIONAL SOBRIETY-GOT IT?

    EMOTIONAL SOBRIETY-GOT IT?

A good while ago, it became clear to that my purpose in life is to work with others. I do this in 2 ways. Through my 12 step fellowship I am active in service-sponsorship and other ways I can serve. Vocationally, I coach others.

In both of these roles there are many things in common. Most of my work clients are not addicted to a substance. They seek a better life and want to achieve goals. Both my vocational clients and 12 step sponsees seek EMOTIOMAL SOBRIETY.

What is it? I was looking desperately for it years ago, and continue to strengthen this area:

    "Emotional Sobriety

If I examine every disturbance I have, great or small, I will find at the root of it some unhealthy dependency and its consequent unhealthy demand.
With God's help, I will continually surrender these hobbling liabilities.
Then I can be set free to live and love; I may then be able to help myself as well as twelve-step others, into emotional sobriety
    ."
Thought to Ponder . . .We surrender to win.

Slowly but surely I have achieved improved emotional sobriety in my life! I deal with most crisis and life issues in a more sober, less uncontrolled emotional fashion than in the past.

Seeking improved emotional sobriety in your life? The "Co-Creative Process of Life Recovery" focuses strongly on emotional sobriety. www.hopeserenity.ca

    Co-Creative Process-DREAMS

    Co-Creative Process-Dreams

We are all blessed with two minds; one conscious that we react to and are aware of, the other, subconscious; a place where dreams dwell. A place of untapped possibilities.

Just like high performing athletes, entertainers and business leaders, all of us can use coaching to take us to the subconscious, articulate our goals (dreams) and use our talent to reach them.

It is this process, a coaching process for living, that we refer to as the "Co-Creative Process of Life Recovery", a process that brings together proven programs to help create a more abundant, well rounded and balanced life.

    Direct your subconscious mind

"Don't discard your fantasies as merely wishful thinking. Honour them as messages from the deepest part of your being about what you can do and directions you can choose." -- Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer

What are your deepest heart-felt desires, dreams and visions?

Our deepest desires and dreams align with the essence of who we are. The more we align with that essence, the more our life holds meaning, purpose and fulfilment. Do you have a sense of your destiny?

"Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born." -- Dale E. Turner

"Everybody builds a dream in their lifetime. You're either going to build your dream, or somebody else's. So build your own!" -- Christopher LaBrec

    FIND LIGHT IN TODAY'S DARKNESS

    FIND LIGHT IN TODAY'S DARKNESS
There is light in the darkness
We currently live in a time where the media and things we witness or experience can have us in a period of darkness. To bring light into the darkness is a personal challenge and opportunity to grow. Are you willing?

    Great people have said:
"Each difficult moment has the potential to open my eyes and open my heart." -- Myla Kabat-Zinn

"Even the most daring and accomplished people have undergone tremendous difficulty. In fact, the more successful they became, the more they attributed their success to the lessons learned during their most difficult times. Adversity is our teacher. When we view adversity as a guide towards greater inner growth, we will then learn to accept the wisdom our soul came into this life to learn." -- Barbara Rose.

"No matter what difficulty you are facing, it is coming from Divine Light to bring you to a higher place within. Write down every conceivable reason that this situation can contribute towards your growth. Write down every way this experience can possibly set the stage for serving to uplift others. When you are complete, and have come to the other side of this experience, you will then know 'why' it happened." -- Barbara Rose

"The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one's life." -- Dalai Lama

Now is the time for change. The "Co-Creative Process of Life Recovery" is a way to be coached to the changes you really want and need.

WHERE DO YOU SEE BEAUTY- or DON'T YOU?

Where Do You See Beauty- or Don't You?

    Seeing the beauty

Funny, today I can see beauty all around me. 15 years ago I saw very little of it.

Today, I see beauty within me and you; 15 years ago I found most people ugly inside, they all wanted something I thought.

What changed? Through a wonderful person who said exactly the right thing at the right time, and a spirit within that let me hear, I suddenly had new sight. We can help you find it.

We can see our Higher Power in so many beautiful things in this world: the reflection of light in the running brook, the spectrum of colors in the oil spot on the street, the stubbly grass peeking out of the snow like morning whiskers, hail popping like kernels of corn, the music of rain, the face of a child, the face of an elder.

Some of us see our Higher Power most clearly in the light of another's eyes or in acts of unselfish kindness and know ourselves to be part of it. With clean, sober eyes we can see this beauty.

Can I see the beauty all around me?

Higher Power, help me to see the beauty all around me today and to realize that I, too, am beautiful in your eyes.

Interested in seeing the beauty of life?

We can help through coaching. www.hopeserenity.ca.
