In the ancient Greek tradition, there are nine muses – mythical women who inspired the arts. Each goddess was tied to a particular branch of the arts; Calliope for epic poetry, Terpsichore for dance, and so on.

For thousands of years, there has lived the idea of the ‘tenth muse.’ The tenth muse is a mortal woman who so excels in her art, and is such an inspiration through it, that she and her art near mythical status…

This October, we’ll pay tribute to the tenth muse as she lives around us – singing, dancing, creating. We celebrate the sacred art being born by the women around us, at the first annual Tenth Muse Festival, on October 28th, at Fais Do-Do, at 5257 W Adams Blvd, Los Angeles.

The festival will run from 3 pm through midnight, and will feature women’s art from a breadth of fields – song, dance, dramatic performance, written word, and more! Women artists will be sharing their art through both performance pieces and standing table displays. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with the artists – and awaken your own artistic spirit!

Join us this October to celebrate the artistry of womanhood!
