I Wonder What The West Was Like
I wonder what the west was like
Before it was captured settled and tamed
In the time when it was
Young wild and free
Before large cities and tall buildings
That rise ’till they touch the skies
Back when open fields extend
For miles and miles
Not bound by gates nor fences
Oh what a thrill that would be
To live in the west
Before the settlers made their way
When cowboys rode the range
And horses ran wild
In the great beauty
Of this place called the west
When it was young wild and free

A Cowboys Love
Well the ranchins tough
the cites rough
there's pains deep within
and I ask him
Why there's tears there in his eyes
as he looks off to where
the mountains kiss the skis
and he tell me his tail
of how he longs to ride
Upon the trail
That leads back to the time
Of mystery
That was worn by passing history
He tels of how the west has changed
where big cities have replaced
The open range
He hangs his head, I take his hand
I see in his eyes
The cowboys love of this great land
